David Lloyd Health Clubs and Premier Inns

Ashdown has been involved with the development of a number of sites for these chains of health and leisure clubs and hotels. Sites investigated have included former landfill waste tips, Greenfield land, reclaimed coastal land and old industrial areas across England and Wales. Works have included desk study appraisals, intrusive ground investigations leading to geotechnical and environmental reporting covering the design of earthworks, foundations and hard playing surfaces as well as the design of gas protection measures and site remediation requirements.

Playing Fields and All Weather Pitches - Dartford

We have worked on a large number of investigations for the provision of new grass and ‘all weather’ playing fields and sport pitches. At this site the proposals were for the provision of four new pitches with open textured macadam MUGA (type 2) surfacing. We were commissioned to undertake a ground investigation to provide factual information as to the ground and groundwater conditions prevailing at the Site.

Our investigations confirmed the underlying geology and groundwater status and provided information relating to the waste acceptance classification of surface soils for off site disposal purposes.
