Site Engineer

We have an immediate requirement for a site engineer operating out of our Head Office in Ditchling, East Sussex.

The principal duties of the role will be:

  • To assist with and supervise geotechnical and ground contamination investigations (drilling boreholes, excavating trial pits, undertaking in-situ testing, sampling, logging etc.) in accordance with instructions and training.
  • Drafting of borehole/trial pit logs and other data retrieved from the field.
  • Scheduling of laboratory testing.
  • Production of factual reports.
  • Production of health and safety documentation to assist with the undertaking of ground investigation works.
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers.

No direct experience is required as full training will be provided. However, any experience would be advantageous.

Remuneration will be negotiated commensurate with experience.

Technical Adminstrator

We are seeking a full-time Technical Administrator to assist our engineering and consultancy team as well as to support the general office administration team. Whilst a full-time position is preferred, we may be able to accommodate part-time working, if the role can be shared between two people and depending on the applicant.

The duties of the role will include (but are not necessarily limited to):

  • Entering data onto technical databases.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Appendices for reports.
  • Assisting with setting up electronic and paper files for projects.
  • General filing and archiving.
  • Amending and issuing of reports, estimates and other documents as necessary.
  • Assisting with answering and directing of incoming phone calls.
  • Obtaining estimates and booking of plant and other sub-contractors.

The role will require general proficiency in the use of computers, computer file management, and e-mail and word-processing software. Experience of spreadsheet and database operation would be advantageous but not essential.

The applicant should have good personal organisational skills and attention to detail, as well as a determination to see allocated tasks completed as quickly as possible and to the best of the individual’s ability.
