In order for us to provide you with an estimate for an appropriate
and cost effective site investigation, we need some information
from you.
First of all, please let us know whether you need advice on either
or both of the following:
Geotechnical Engineering, eg. Foundations, Roads, Drainage,
Slope stability, Earthworks, Retaining structures, Soil improvement.
Environmental Assessment and Remediation, eg. Identification
of contamination in soil and groundwater, Advice on remediation
techniques, Design and supervision of cleanup works.
For a Ground Investigation, please let us know:
Location: Preferably a full address (and the National Grid
Reference if possible). A Site location plan would be very helpful.
Proposed Development: Type of development, Type of construction
(e.g. brickwork, portal frame), Extent of development (eg. house
extension, apartment building or housing estate), Retaining structures,
Roads, Drainage. A general arrangement drawing may help ensure the
optimum investigation.
Environmental assessment needs (eg. to meet with NHBC or
regulatory authority requirement)
Foundation Loading: If known, this helps us to design geotechnical
engineering investigation work. Otherwise, please advise number
of floors, type of construction and span of floor / roof beams.
Existing Site Conditions: eg. Open, Built-up, Concrete
surfaced.
Site History: Greenfield, Brownfield, Active, Derelict,
Previous uses.
Access: Width of access gates and any obstructions for our
plant. (Note, JCB excavators require 3m width; a standard drilling
rig requires 8m headroom and 3m width).
Services: If known, please provide a plan showing services
locations
