Ashdown Site Investigation Limited was formed in Lewes, East Sussex,
in 1990 under the direction of John Bewick. From its beginning,
with a staff complement of 2 and a turnover of around £100,000
per annum, the company has grown to a full time staff of 16 and
a turnover in excess of £1.2 million per annum.
In response to a progressive growth in work load a branch office
was opened in St. Albans, Hertfordshire in 1997, enabling the company
to service the area to the north of London more efficiently. In
September 2002 the Hertfordshire office was relocated to new and
larger premises in Harpenden.
Through its recruitment and training policy, which is geared towards
providing a top quality service, Ashdown Site Investigation Limited
has ensured that the geotechnical and environmental expertise available
to clients has grown in line with their expectations and demands.
Recognition of the importance which the company attaches to the
development of its staff was achieved with the award of the Investors
In People status in January 2001. The company has operated its own
quality assurance scheme for many years, and achieved accreditation
to BS EN ISO 9002 (and subsequently BS EN 9001) in August 2001.
The staff of Ashdown Site Investigation Limited pride themselves
on the close working relationships developed with clients and their
ability to provide sound and cost effective engineering solutions.
